Mechanical Tune-up

A mechanical tune-up is perfect for someone that wants to restore the function of their historic home’s wood windows. This service includes freeing the window sash from any paint or caulk on the inside and outisde of the house. The sashes are removed before new preservation-grade sash cords are installed. The pulleys are lubricated, and the sashes are reinstalled properly to ensure easy opening and locking.

No cosmetic work is done to the sashes during the mechanical tune-up (scraping paint, new glazing, etc). While the sashes are out, spring bronze weatherstripping can easily be added to help with draft-proofing.
